Richard Davis

For the past 10 years I have been General Manager of Totara Springs Christian Centre and then in July I took up a newly established role as Strategic Projects Director here at Totara Springs. I am married to Kate and we have three teenage children Over my time in Christian Camping I have been an advocate in bringing professionalism to the camping environment, ensuring the Health and Safety in our workplaces, supporting smaller camps and building relationships with the local church. With my experience of camp management I fully understand the landscape and challenges that camps are working with today. As a Board member I aim to ensure that CCNZ is future proofed for the tasks ahead and be an advocate for all working at the coal face of camping. Building on the foundations that have been set, I would like to ensure that the Board is fit for purpose and we are endeavouring to always meet the needs of its members. I am passionate in the opportunity that Christian Camping has in spreading the Good News and am looking forward to seeing God work in our member camps.

Dave Bruce

I am a faithful follower of Jesus and His calling to Columba has been one of encouragement and reassurance. I have been in this role since 2017 and thoroughly enjoy its diverse nature, there is always something new to learn, a challenge to overcome or a success to celebrate. Studying outdoor education at Aoraki Poytechnic, prior to working at Totara Springs and then moving into Project Management for a Rope Access Company in the Waikato, has given me a well round understanding of adventure, education, camping, health and safety, and business. In its simplest form camping is about living in community and doing life together, it’s a median for challenging, growing and supporting one another. It is important to me that this ethos is core, not only to our individual camps, but to our community of camps. My wife, Suzie, and I grew up camping in the south but spent 10years in the Waikato, where we had the privilege of interacting with the wider camping community. Being connected with this community has provided a strength that could not be achieved on our own. CCNZ is a front runner for connecting our camps together and it would be my privilege to serve on the CCNZ Board, to be a part of assisting Christian Camping to thrive in New Zealand. As a camp manager, I am exposed directly to the challenges that we face as a community and I look forward to representing you as a member of the CCNZ Board.

Joe Hall

Joe (Jonathan) is married to Shelley and they have 4 daughters. Mia, Greta and Yasmin are launching themselves into the world post high school and Brooke is in Year 11 at Cambridge High School. Shelley is currently working as one of the cooks at Finlay Park Adventure camp. Joe has worked in the IT support industry, starting as a programmer and moving through support roles to the IT Manager for a large rural council. During this time, Joe had been involved in Finlay Park Easter camp and on the organising committee of eCamp at Finlay Park. Through this involvement, he joined the Finlay Park board and has served on this for the past 10 years including time as chairman. Joe decided that he wanted something more out of his career and the opportunity arose to join Finlay Park staff as the program manager in 2016. For Joe this felt like God speaking direction into his and his family’s life and so he jumped into it with both feet. In his role, he gets to work with all the groups coming to Finlay Park organising their programs and planning for their camps. Joe says that this is an opportunity to share Finlay Park, the beauty of Gods creation and Gods love with the thousands of people that come to Finlay Park each year.

Troy Stewart

Troy Stewart’s passion for Christian Camping began at eight years old during her experiences at Camp David in Hastings, where her faith and love for camp ministry took root. This early foundation inspired her journey into ministry, serving as a youth worker and youth pastor. Today, Troy is the Operations Manager at El Rancho, where she continues to combine her leadership skills with her deep desire to see lives transformed by the love of God. Married to David and a proud mother to Jay and Olive, Troy brings both personal and professional experience to her work. Over the years, she has contributed to various not-for-profit boards and played several roles in Central Easter Camp, always with a focus on creating spaces where people can encounter God. Since 2020, Troy has been training with Christian Camping International, gaining a deeper understanding of the impact that a connected and supportive network of camps can have on individuals and communities. She is deeply passionate about CCNZ and its mission, believing wholeheartedly in the power of camps to bring people closer to God. With her fresh perspective, Troy is committed to fostering collaboration among camps and ensuring CCNZ continues to thrive, providing opportunities for people of all ages to experience God’s love and grow in their faith.
